On Saturday, I took Karson to the Sam Noble History of Dinosaur's Museum (something like that). It was free to the public that day, and I had been wanting to take Karson and visit. Bryce stayed home to finish painting my bathroom cabinent & entertainment center (which, by the way, look amazing)! I packed Karson and I some lunch and headed out towards OU.
When we got there, it was packed with people! It's funny how when anything is free, there is always crowds. We entered the museum and first went to look at the dinosaur displays. Not a good idea with a 2 yr. old. He thought it would be fun to try and cross the 'red-line' and go underneath it. I had to drag him out a couple of times. Then, he decided he had to go around and feel and touch everything in sight. I couldn't contain him in one location long enough to even read about the history of the dinosaurs. Finally, they had a 'Discovery Room' which had toys and books for little children to play with. This was right up Karson's alley. There were so many things to d
o, he didn't know what to do first. In the process of trying to do everything, my son kept getting hounded by the older kids. I've noticed this alot over the last year whenever we take him somewhere to play. The older kids are mean and rude!
I don't know if this happens to other kids, but my child seems to get pushed over alot. Luckily, he's real easy going about it...but I can't believe how some of these kids act. I often wonder how much time parent's are actually spending with their kids to know their behavior or if they're even teaching them anything at all! My child has NEVER hit another child. I can't believe some kids are already hitting my child. My child NEVER knew the word 'no' or 'mine' until he started hanging around some other kids. My sweet little boy is being corrupted by others. Whenever we go to the library to play, the other kids tell him to go away and take toys from him. When we went to the park for a party, one little girl dumped sand all over him and wouldn't let him touch any toys. And at the museum, a couple of girls would yank toys out of his hands that he was playing with. Some of these children are his age, some are a few years older. I just can't believe the cruelty of kids sometimes. It's even more frustrating when you feel like your the only parent that monitors kids behaviors. I'm trying to teach Karson that we always say "yes, yes, yes..." and we don't use the word mine but instead we share. So far, he's doing pretty well. I am proud of my little boy who shares and never picks a fight!

AMEN SISTA on the mean kids stuff. I seriously am about to just go OFF on some parents at the splash pad. If one more little punk kid comes over and either bullies my boy or kicks/punches/pushes etc i am just gonna lose it. And the parents, if they even notice between their cell phone calls and chatting with their other friends, are always like "Oh boys will be boys"... WRONG, no where does it say boys must be agressive punk #$& bullies. GRRRR..... okay sorry for the rant.
I love my sweet little boy too... and you and i just need to do our best to keep them that way!
Gotta love the Dino Museum! I am so glad we have it here in Norman
