MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND & ANNIVERSARY

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. I am especially grateful for our troops and the sacrifices they make for this country. I am in awe of their bravery and they deserve the utmost respect. I would like to thank them personally for giving up their lives and families to fight for our freedom--both past and present. THANK YOU!

This past weekend also happened to be Bryce and I's 5th wedding anniversary (on May 23rd). We celebrated this special occasion by shopping, eating, and golfing. Bryce and I love to golf and we took Karson to his first driving range. He loved trying to hit the golf balls (and throw them) onto the grass. He also enjoyed putting and playing with the numbered poles in the putting holes. We had lots of fun and enjoyed spending time together. Oh, we watched the movie 'National Treasurer 2' which was really good. I definitely recommend seeing it.

MOTHER'S DAY

Out of all the holidays and celebrations, Mother's Day is on my list for top favorites. It's finally one day out of the year, where mothers finally get recognized for everything they do. Being a stay-at-home mom is not an easy job. I know from the outside, it appears easy and manageable, but that is all a mirage. We all have our up and down days, hopefully more of them are ups. Karson is usually a sweet little boy, except for when he starts throwing his tantrums. Which, like most toddlers, comes often during the day. I'm starting to notice a trend that all first-borns tend to be stubborn and dominating (and yes, both Bryce and I are firstborns also). If Karson doesn't get his way on everything, it's an immediate temper tantrum. I'm trying to teach the child how to behave without giving in to his every whim, but also letting him know I still love and adore him. It's alot harder than it looks. Any ideas??? But it's all worth it when he randomly comes up and gives you a kiss on your knee or lets you rock him to sleep before bed time. In honor of Mother's Day, my sweet husband made me a 'surprise' breakfast and a nice card. Karson made me a few gifts from church. The whole day I got praise from Bryce about how mothers are amazing and he topped it off with changing all of Karson's poopy diapers. What a great man!

BOWLING

On Saturday, Bryce and I took Karson bowling for the first time. I know, we are lame parents because it took us 2 years, just to expose our kid to balls and pins. It was even better because they had glow-in-the-dark everything. Karson loved it! His favorite part was watching the bowling ball come up from the return. He thought it was so neat! And to be honest, Karson actually helped me bowl better than I did on my own. Don't ask me how, it just happened. And no, I'm not a horrible bowler. Bryce and I usually make bets on who wins...luckily we didn't because I would be making him dinner and giving him a back massage by now (both things I dislike doing). Anyways, we had an enjoyable evening and we loved seeing Karson's reactions to everything at the Bowling Center. We will have to go again when their 99 cent coupon comes out. Spending $12.50 on just one game is definitely over-priced!
