We had a blast on Karson's birthday. We started off the day by going to the Oklahoma City Zoo. Karson loves animals and I knew he would just enjoy seeing all the different kinds of creatures. When we first arrived, we went and saw the birds. One of the birds ended up squawking at Karson, which made him cry. Luckily, this didn't ruin our trip. He brightened up once he saw the monkeys and bears. We had purchased tickets to ride the choo choo train (which Karson loves) but it turns out the trained stopped running at 5:30 p.m. and we got there at 6:00 p.m. I was really bummed because I knew Karson would have loved to see the train chug along. As we were wallowing in our sorrow, we discovered a huge new playground built for the older and younger kids. It had alot of neat slides and things to do....Karson had a blast playing on the playground.
Afterwards, we went and ate dinner at Van's Pig Stand. Their prices are okay....but the meals are debatable. I find the meat to be under-cooked and cold, while Bryce enjoys all the meats they offer. To each their own I guess. We then traveled home and had Karson open up presents. Thanks to both set of grandparents for all the neat toys! We bought Karson a "kid-friendly" tool set so he can be just like daddy. He absolutely loves his new drill and loves working with his new tools. It was difficult to get him to put his presents down to come and have cupcakes with his favorite candy, mike & ikes, but I finally managed. Karson, however, must have filled up on dinner b/c he wouldn't touch his birthday cupcake and wouldn't even open his mouth for the mike and ikes. So much for candy and treats! Overall, it was a happy day.

Happy Birthday to Karson!!! The zoo is so fun, especially when they are a little older and can actually appreciate the animals. He's such a cutie pie!
