MOTHER'S DAY
Out of all the holidays and celebrations, Mother's Day is on my list for top favorites. It's finally one day out of the year, where mothers finally get recognized for everything they do. Being a stay-at-home mom is not an easy job. I know from the outside, it appears easy and manageable, but that is all a mirage. We all have our up and down days, hopefully more of them are ups. Karson is usually a sweet little boy, except for when he starts throwing his tantrums. Which, like most toddlers, comes often during the day. I'm starting to notice a trend that all first-borns tend to be stubborn and dominating (and yes, both Bryce and I are firstborns also). If Karson doesn't get his way on everything, it's an immediate temper tantrum. I'm trying to teach the child how to behave without giving in to his every whim, but also letting him know I still love and adore him. It's alot harder than it looks. Any ideas??? But it's all worth it when he randomly comes up and gives you a kiss on your knee or lets you rock him to sleep before bed time. In honor of Mother's Day, my sweet husband made me a 'surprise' breakfast and a nice card. Karson made me a few gifts from church. The whole day I got praise from Bryce about how mothers are amazing and he topped it off with changing all of Karson's poopy diapers. What a great man!

I can't agree more! Mother's day this year was extra special because Coleman was finally old enough to make me feel like I needed a break on Mother's Day. So, how do you handle the tantrums anyway, because now Coleman is getting familiar with the effect they have. I try not to act surprised or react to them. Is that good? I feel mean sometimes!
